How you pay: by the CBM
LCL is priced by CBM (cubic meters, the volume your cartons occupy) or by weight, whichever is greater. So light clothing is usually charged on volume, while a small pallet of tiles is charged on weight. Measure your boxes honestly before you book, because the final bill follows the actual CBM measured at the warehouse, not your estimate.
When LCL is the right choice
LCL suits you when your order is too small to justify a full container, roughly anything under about 15 CBM. Below that line, sharing space is usually cheaper than paying for a 20-foot box you cannot fill. It is a good fit for first orders, sample runs, and mixed goods bought from more than one supplier.
How consolidation works
Your cartons are collected and brought to a CFS (container freight station) near your supplier in Guangzhou or Shenzhen. There your goods are consolidated, loaded into a shared container with other shipments, and sailed to Chittagong. At the Chittagong end the container is de-consolidated, your portion is separated out, and our C&F team clears it through customs and arranges delivery. Because LCL cargo is handled more times than a sealed FCL box, pack sturdily: strong double-wall cartons, palletised where you can, edges protected.
LCL or FCL?
With FCL you get a whole sealed container to yourself, less handling, and a lower cost per CBM once it is full. As your orders grow past roughly 15 CBM, it is usually time to graduate from LCL to FCL. Below that, LCL keeps your cash in stock, not in empty container space.
